Set includes: 8" omelette, 10" omelette, and 12" omelette, 3qt chefs casserole with cover, 7qt chefs casserole with cover, and 2.5qt shallow saucepan with cover. Heavy-gauge aluminum is responsive to temperature changes. These pans feature the original Calphalon hard anodized surface, which is stick resistant, meaning that it sticks when you want it (when your searing, browning) and releases when you need it to(when your food is ready). If you know how cast iron cooks, you know how the hard anodized cooks, but hard anodized has many beneifts that make it better choice- aluminum is a better conductor than iron, you never season your pan(so you dont have flavor transfer from dish to dish), and it doesn't rust! All pans are spun or drawn into shape, which makes the entire pan (sides as well as bottom) the same thickness, which guarantees even heating throughout. If you enjoy cooking and want the best and most versatile surface for performing a variety of techniques- this is the surface for you! Metal utensil and broiler safe. Lifetime Warranty.

Food sticks to pans. this was made in China not the USA. Poor workmanship, if I had known before hand I never would have bought it for my sister. Very disappointed that Amazon would deal with this kind of product. I will be thinking a second time before I use Amazon again.

 "Good Calphalon set" 2010-02-02
By Zelda's designer (Boise, Idaho)
I own a set of Calphalon One cookware; love it, but it's TERRIBLY expensive, and a rather small set. This set is second to Calphalon One. It's hard anodized, which I prefer hands down over the treated non-stick surface lines (even Calphalon's). I am a traditional cook, so I really use my cookware. It performs well, and cleans well.

The handles are not as heavy as the C-One line, but they are fully metal so you can use them in the oven. The pans themselves are not quite as heavy gauge as C-One, but absolutely acceptable.

The small 2 handled dutch oven will make one of the meanest port wine beef roasts you will ever have!

For the cook who knows what she wants, the product description is helpful. Clearly identifying the product as hard anodized helped. Although I would have liked a comparison between the C-One line and this one, detailing the differences in gauge and handles, I am very satisfied with this purchase.

"Great price, One bad design flaw" 2010-02-01
By FL Mom (Florida, USA)
I was thrilled to get this Calphalon at such a great deal - and I still contend that it was a great deal. When I got it, though, I realized that I had purchased a set with only metal handles. My sister has the same set, and you have to use a pot holder to touch any handles or lids because they are all metal and get super hot, super fast. Calphalon makes a rubber coated handle, I think. I returned this set and will look for a safer model (especially with a small child in the house!) The upside is that Amazon took it back with no fuss - I just had to pay return shipping since there was nothing wrong with the product. It was well worth it!

This Kitchen Aid set is exactly what a cook would hope to have in a kitchen. I've had this set for 5 years now, and it still looks brand new. I can lift the pots by the handles without burning my hand, and the lids fit securely when cooking. I always hand wash them and have never ever seen rust or peeling. It's a high-quality product for a great price. Well worth it.

By Janice M (Torrance, CA)
We purchased this set as a Christmas gift for our daughter and her family. When she opened the gift we were all very pleased with the appearance of the cookware as well as the weight of the pans. The cookware has been used on a daily basis since Chritmas and is performing well. No scorched or burned foods such as you might get from using pans without a heavy bottom. The fact they they should not be put in the dishwasher is not an issue because these pans clean up so easily. It is nice to have attractive cookware that can go directly from stove or oven to the table. I would not hesitate to make this purchase again. What a wonderful wedding gift it would make.

 "Best cookware ever!!!!" 2010-01-20
By Kimberly F. Hatley
I just received his set about a week ago. Not a long time to test it just yet but giving my review on the quality thus far. But first, let me say I ordered this set through Amazon on a Friday afternoon and received it Saturday morning! I was floored at how quickly it arrived...and with free shipping! Ok, so for the set. I am no regular cook but want to start so I did weeks and weeks of research before settling on this set. I wanted a set that had 12 pieces, clear lids and the covered handles and that could go in the over. I researched between stainless or hard anodized and it seemed the hard anodized was even stronger than stainless yet had the non-stick benefit. I opened the box and was leary of what the pans might feel like in my hand as I had never seen these in person. This is a super nice heavy set of cookware! I feel like a gourmet chef using them! They are very substantial and the hard anodized surface is all one piece inside, out, and bottom. Very quality stuff! I have only cooked with them once so far and was so impressed with the clean-up. Very easy, even easier than my old non-stick set. I highly recommend this set to the beginning or very experienced cooks!

 "BEWARE of these pans!!" 2010-02-11
By Avid chef
I purchased the set BRAND NEW and the first time I used the 8" skillet, I heated water in the pan to cook hotdogs. Before I placed the hotdogs in the pan, I noticed discoloration and spots all of the pan. I then poured out the water and washed it and nothing came out!! Alls I had in this skillet was water!! I then called Cuisinart customer service and they are very hard to deal with. I told the agent what happened and she said that I would have to go and purchase a special cleaner to see if that would help. I JUST USED THIS PAN FOR THE FIRST TIME!! Why should I go and make a trip for something that is clearly a defect?? I asked if I could get a replacement on the pan and she said that it wasn't covered under a manufacturer's defect because I used the pan on high heat and they don't recommend that for their pans! I was shocked! My comment to her was "so you don't recommend the pans to boil water to make pasta, hotdogs, etc..?" and she said "NO". What kind of pans are these??? I pd. $200 plus tax for this hunk of crap and I will be repacking and taking them up to the store!! Can't boil water in them...what a joke! I will never buy anything of Cuisinart's again!

"Great Cookware at Resonable Price!" 2010-02-08
By J. T. Hwang (Chicago, IL)
I've purchased two sets about six months ago and had a chance to use every piece. I have to say that this set is a bargain, but noticed that Cuisinart Multiclad Pro is what I would prefer over this set (if money was no object). I've purchased the Multiclad Pro 3 qt saucepan and the 5-1/2 qt pan to compliment this set, and love the true triple ply and heavier gauge sides which prevents scorching. Can't compare this set to the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro set that cost two to three times as much (or All-Clad)...and I'm quite happy that I have purchased this set!

As for the 10-piece set, I agree with the high praise from many already posted. This is a very good set for a resonable price. Would it last a lifetime? Probably not but I will get good use out of it for at least ten years. Sides of pan are a bit thin and will flex slightly (compared to the Multiclad models). If the pan fell from my hanging rack, it would probably dent. You can hang the pots with lids on, though one would have to be careful not to knock them off. One of the lids came off and hit the countertop then the floor, but survived the fall without any damage. My favorite is the 3 qt saucepan and the 3-1/2 qt saute.

Cameo or Bar Keepers Friend does a good job of cleaning up residue that can't be cleaned up with standard dish washing soap or in the dishwasher. I have some pitting on the interior of pan from throwing salt from soft-boiling eggs or pasta. Pitting does not impact the performance, but a bit ugly looking (doesn't bother me as this set was inexpensive and I've purchased to use everyday). I've done a comparison between the 3 qt provided in this set compared to the Multiclad 3 qt. I was surprised that using same amount of water an at same size gas burners with switching the pans every minute to ensure even heating, Chef's Classic boiled water quicker than the Multiclad by at least a minute (I'm a professional engineer and a bit quirky that way).

I've also purchased the anodized non-stick pans by Cuisinart and been using the glass lids from that set on the Chef's Classic. Since purchasing the stainless set, my non-stick pans are in storage and though they are fairly new, teflon started coming off from the top of the cookware where lid meets the pan. I realize the professionals use metal lids as it keeps in the heat better and easier to clean, but I do like to see what's going on inside the cookware when I'm cooking. I'm starting to get used to the metal lids. This set has also retired my Lodge cast iron cookware to use only on the grill, as the stainless base heat retention is great and much easier to clean and maintain.

I would highly recommend this set to anyone who wants a long lasting cookware, likes to use metal utensils with their cookware as long as they don't mind superficial scratches(instruction manual states that non-metallic utensils be used), enjoys developing fond (brown bits) for making tasty sauces, or simply wants a cookware that one can abuse without having to worry about ingesting Teflon, this set would be very satisfactory. If you want the absolute best and spend considerable time in the kitchen, spend more for the Cuisinart Multiclad or All-Clad and don't complain about the little details. For most everyone else out there, this set would be quite adequate. Happy cooking!

Other Info: As for interchangeability with Cuisinart Multiclad line, 3-qt line has different size lids as Multiclas line has deeper Saute pans. Frying pans are the same size. Pam or similar cooking spray should be avoided as they will bake on to the pans and will be difficult to remove. I've started to cook eggs on real butter mixed with olive oil. Wow! Eggs are so much better than cooked on the non-stick skillet with spray oil. Everything in moderation, but I've been learning to live a little and exercise more to make up.

 "Great Pan!" 2009-12-10
By lizzyanny
I bought this pan when it was reviewed in a cooking magazine. It was compared to, and rated the same as All Clad. I really didn't believe it, but headed to the local low price store (WM) and bought one. I have a burner on my stove that has a hot spot and is perfect for testing fry pans. I am a huge All Clad fan because the hot spot really doesn't affect All Clad. Anyway I cranked on my burner and dropped some butter in fully expecting to see it smoking away. It didn't. It was as good as All Clad. I went back to the store and bought the whole set.

 "All-Clad Quality" 2010-01-28
By Mark E (Las Vegas, NV USA)
Cooking with stainless steel is a great, and the All-Clad does a great job evenly distributing the heat - even on the sides. I bought the 12-inch version, and while I have an 8" pan for eggs, I don't like to use stainless for eggs. You can do it, but it's a lot of work to keep it polished and smooth, and the smallest scratch can will cause havoc. Also, I would not recommend even using a non-metal pad on this pan, unless it's super fine. It will roughen up the bottom of the soft metal and create problems. I just use a little Bar Keepers Friend and a soft cloth, and this pan is in great condition after about a year of weekly use.

If you need to use a spatula or spoon, I would also recommend wood or silicon, but the nice thing about the All-Clad is it's very easy to use without. Just a little shake and you can mix your vegetables without making a mess. For cooking meat, the stainless is nice because it creates a nice fond, the brown carmalized bits of meat, that makes for a nice sauce.

Because it's an All-Clad, it's well built and the handle is firmly riveted; you should never have to worry about it wiggling loose. I wish it came with a lid, because the All-Clad 12" lid sold separately is very expensive for something most won't use often for this type of pan; but when I do need a lid, I just lay a cookie sheet over the top.

 "the handle..." 2010-01-11
By H.C. Carey (Arlington, VA USA)
I just bought a couple sets of All-Clad stainless after the Calphalon non-stick we were given as a wedding present began to give up the ghost and the non-stick began deteriorating. I bought all-clad because of its cadillac reputation. I was a little worried about food sticking, but I followed the old mantra "hot pan, cold oil" and cooked some scrambled eggs that just slid out of the pan with no sticking whatsoever. The pan heated evenly and cooked evenly--no hot spots. Excellent.

The handle though--the handles are nasty! The handles on the Calhalon were rounded on top and comfortable--these are flat with a very defined edge, and it's uncomfortable to lift the pan, especially the heavier pan. I'm suprised. But I suppose I'll get used to--I better, for the price these things command.

So--excellent pan, bad handle

 "Excellent as a wok/skillet as well!" 2008-07-24
By Teck Tan (San Antonio, TX USA)
I am novice cook and I am familiar with using ceramic lined cast iron cookware, in fact I love them if not for their high price. Found this wonderful Braiser at Target that I can substitute as a wok and a skillet! I am willing to look over the difference in red color hue; this is only a tat more red in comparison to my Le Creuset dutch oven to make it a set.

Good thing about cast iron is, you only need to turn up the heat to the maximum of medium! The lid is heavy and does not wobble at boiling temperature. A good sign of a quality product worthy as heirloom pots; to be pass down to next generation, if there is such a label. Overall, a versatile cooking "pot" that is good value for you money. If you are allowed only 1 cooking pot, you won't go wrong with this!

It passed my fried rice test (not a lot of nasty charred rice crust at the bottom) and also passed my meat test. I pan fried a chicken breast with 1 tsp of vegetable oil to a nice golden brown! Stir frying of vegetables is a little trickier though. Unless you like your vegetables a little al dente, then this is good, otherwise the vegetables tend to overcook! I had this Braiser/wok for just 1 week, thus I still need time to fine tune my cooking time for vegetables.

 "Great!" 2010-02-08
By Anthony M. Colley
These Pots & Pans Are Great! They heat up fast and cook food evenly and faster than my older pots and pans, the only down side is its hard to cook anything on it that you dont want to stick, unless you use some kind of non stick spray. but they dont stain and look great in my kitchen!

I have no issues with Amazon's service or shipping. I received the items promptly and in good condition. I was disappointed when I saw on the bottom of the box, "Made in China". If I would have known this set was of Chinese manufacture, I would not have ordered it. Now I wonder what toxins are in the product, and am upset that my money has gone to China. I would like to see Amazon require the indication of the country of origin for all of the items on the its web site.

 "Excellent value" 2010-01-26
By Marie (PA)
I rarely ever write reviews, but after a long search for a good stainless set, feel compelled to comment. After much research I first purchased the Calphalon Tri Ply Stainless set and used them for almost a year. I was kind of stuck on having glass lids, but later I found that the glass lids really didn't matter as much as I thought. They were easily dented along the thin stainless rim (which is sharp if you have little ones aspiring to cook). Everything stuck to these pans. I also had a major problem with condensation building in the lids and seeping out through the "seal" between lid and pan. This created stains on the outside of the pans requiring additional scrubbing, as well as a huge mess on my cooktop almost every time I cooked (4 or more days a week). Luckily, Bed Bath and Beyond has an excellent return policy, and I returned the other and purchased this Cuisinart set from them (cheaper than Amazon with 20 off coupon). What an amazing difference! Heavy duty. Great value. Look beautiful. Handles are comfortable. Not too heavy. Lids fit well (no condensation dripping over the sides of the pans), mirror stainless interiors of the pans are so nice and almost like non stick. I made eggs with a drop of oil, and they slid right out of the pan. The other set required serious scrubbing with Bar Keeper's Friend every time . . . a real pain. The only thing I miss is a 4qt. saucepan, but could add that anytime. I've also made the switch to all plastic and wood utensils as to not scratch the interior, but you could use metal if you do not mind scratches. Nothing bad to say about these pans, and I saved almost $100 in returning the other more expensive set. Hope this helps anyone with their search for the perfect set of cookware.

Good price, but what's the cost? Buy American made products. It's patriotic, environmentally conscious (less shipping) and supports our troubled economy. True, All-Clad lids are made in China, but the pans are all American and carry a lifetime warranty.

 "Kitchen Workhorse" 2010-02-06

This Cast Iron pot is the best.I made beef stew in it,put it in oven, stew meat was fall apart delicious.Being able to go from stove top to oven is wonderful. It was preseasoned, which is a great time saver. After each use,I lightly coat with vegatable oil and store it,then it is ready for the next use.I have learned, though,to keep the heat on burner around medium.Once pot is heated you are ready to cook.I recommend this for though who like comfort food, and any recipe that is long cooking.I should also mention it is easy to clean,a little warm water and soap and it is ready to go.

"Gourmet Cookware at a Garage Sale Price" 2010-02-01
By Chris E. (NJ)
I purchased the 6.4 quart version of this product as part of a Amazon 2009 Holiday special and got a great deal. Even at full price this product is worth every penny. It is heavy, solidly built and on par with its Le Creuset competitors. We have used it for stove-top soup preparation and oven prepared braised meats with no complaints. I would definitely recommend this product. Add an extra star to my review if this product is on sale or reduced in price. It is a must have for any kitchen.

"Best purchase I ever made" 2010-02-01
By Gerry (Massachusetts)
My husband bought me this cast iron casserole for Christmas and I can't count how many times I have used it. I LOVE IT. I keep it on the stove because it's red and looks nice and it's there a touch away when I need it. I use it at least twice a week for soup, to cook a pot roast or a chicken. I also have made chowder, and this past week I made spaghetti sauce with meatballs & sausage. Everything comes out great.

This dutch oven scored tops by America's Test Kitchen against some very pricey models. It does everything the more expensive brands do but at affordable price. Very pretty too.

Plenty big enough for soups and stews. Being cast iron, it is heavy, but that is to be expected.
